Here are some prayers to begin a relationship with God.
No lip service please!
This is something that you must take to Heart!
Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and I do not deserve eternal life. But, I believe You died and rose from the grave to make me a new creation and to prepare me to dwell in your presence forever. Jesus, come into my life, take control of my life, forgive my sins and save me. I am now placing my trust in You alone for my salvation and I accept your free gift of eternal life.”
Dear God, I realize that I am a sinner who needs forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sin. I want to turn from sin. Jesus, come into my heart and be Lord of my life. Amen.
Heavenly Father, I’ve sinned against you. I want forgiveness for my sins. I believe that Jesus died on a cross and rose again. Father, I give you my life to do with as you wish. I want Jesus Christ to come into my life and into my heart. This I ask in Jesus Name. Amen.
Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and need your forgiveness. I believe that only you can forgive sins. I ask you to come into my heart, forgive my sins, and be the ruler of my life. Thank you for saving me from my sins. Thank you for the love that you show me everyday. I now know that eternal life is a gift given from you. I pray and ask that you be the Lord of my life, lead me, guide me and direct my path that I may walk each and every day with you Lord. In your wonderful name I pray. Amen.
These are Prayers of Salvation from several different Christian denominations. You can see these are essentially the same and capture the bottom line of what God asks us to do!
So go ahead and pick one or pray your own prayer to God that admits that you are a Sinner and accept His Sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Ask for Him to come into your life, to guide you and promise you will Obey* Him.
* You Boomers may be wondering if you can live up to that “Obey Him” part?
- If you fail to obey God, and everyone does in their humanity, you will be forgiven.
- The Bible warns this is not a license to Sin!
- You should vow to try your best, with God’s help.
- He will help you with things that have become tiresome, abusive or have become unhealthy priorities in your life.
Peace!
